Podiatrists (also known as Chiropodists) are experts at assessing, diagnosing and treating problems with the foot and lower limb. Podiatry and chiropody differ, however most practitioners do both.
Our podiatrist can treat:
- Nail problems and nail surgery for in grown toe nails
- Ankle pain such as ankle sprains and tarsal tunnel syndrome
- Treatment for corns and verruca
- Sports injury including Achilles tendon pain
- Medical pedicure for rough skin and calluses
- Shin pain such as shin splints
- Diabetic feet for foot and toe care
- Forefoot pain including Morton’s neuroma and metatarsalgia
- Plantar pressure gait scan and custom made orthotic insoles
- Heel pain such as plantar fasciitis or Baxter’s nerve entrapment
- Toe pain including bunions, toe arthritis and Freidbergs disease
Chiropody is the treatment of ingrown toe nails, fungal nail infections, athletes foot, verrucas, corns, calluses and bunions. Podiatry is the analysis of the position and movement of your feet (called foot biomechanics) and how you walk (called gait).
Gait can be assessed with Plantar Pressure Gait Scan. This is a dynamic, weight-bearing scan of the feet during gait. It tracks the way pressure is transferred through your foot, and allows us to isolate individual areas of your foot and correct them with insoles (orthotics) and specific exercises. A podiatrist can also work with the physio’s and osteopaths on the team to work on improving your biomechanics and function.
**Insole orders are placed within 48 hours of your appointment and can take 2-4 weeks for manufacture and delivery. Once we have received them we will contact you for a fitting**

About Our Podiatrist…
With all of the procedures undertaken in the clinical setting, the highest level of expertise and care are employed. Whether gait analysis, orthotic manufacture, nail surgery or simple chiropody, all aspects of the treatment are undertaken in professional surroundings with a holistic, patient focused approach.
As a fully registered and insured Podiatrist who has worked extensively with physiotherapists, Jack’s interest in treating the full body filters through to his patient and it is not uncommon to be referred to other specialists to ensure full and comprehensive care is achieved.
Jack has worked in all aspects of Podiatry from diabetic and wound care clinics, nail surgery and reconstruction, rehab and post-surgery care including acupuncture, ultrasound and laser therapies.
He has a keen interest in improving the environment for the foot to function in and uses a plantar pressure and plantar force platform to make sure we analyse the correct data to ensure this, therefore allowing insole/orthotic prescription manufacture and adjustment to achieve specific targeted results.
Jack Lidyard qualified from Brighton University as a Podiatrist in 2008 and immediately began working with athletes from an amateur to national level.
For any nail, skin, foot, orthotic or rehab questions, please contact myself or the clinic directly.
