Thai Massage techniques involving Yoga, Shiatsu, Mobility Movements, Acupressure and Foot Reflexology techniques.
Traditional Thai Massage is usually carried out on the floor with the client fully clothed, and without the use of carrier oils. Thai Table Massage is an adaptation of this treatment that can be carried out on a normal portable massage table. The combination of stretching and compression helps to lengthen tight muscles and relieve pressure that you may have not even realised that you were holding.
In the Northern regions of Thailand the emphasis in Traditional Thai Massage is on stretching. By contrast in the Southern regions of Thailand the emphasis in Traditional Thai Massage is on acupressure. Thai Table Massage will incorporate both of these styles. The combination of the techniques made it suitable for use on a table.
Stretching helps to lengthen muscles over time, leading to increased flexibility and a wilder range of movement. Through stretching, the circulation of the fluid in the joint can move more freely, lessening friction between them.
After Thai massage treatment the musculoskeletal pain is often eased, and the therapy can also impact neuropathic pain and other chronic conditions. Through improved flexibility you will be able to realign your body, resulting in improvements to your posture.
The sessions are very relaxing and result in a big serotonin release. These massages could be a great remedy if you find it difficult to maintain a healthy sleep pattern, and it also allows the mind to relax, relieving us of our underlying stress, symptoms of depression and anxiety. When serotonin is at normal levels, you feel more focused, emotionally stable, happier and calmer.
Thai massage is generally safe, but not suited for everyone. Anyone dealing with the following conditions should avoid Thai massage:
Unmedicated high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and cardiovascular problems, history with blood clots or varicose veins, osteoporosis, arthritis or joint replacement, cancer, early-stage MS or Parkinson’s disease, during menstruation or pregnancy.
Thai Foot and Leg Massage is a therapeutic technique that originated in Thailand around 2000 years ago, incorporating elements of Shiatsu, Chinese massage, and Yoga. This 30-minute session offers a revitalising combination of traditional massage techniques, including gentle stretching, acupressure, and soothing foot manipulation. They may also use specialised tools to enhance the experience. Focused on the feet and legs, the treatment stimulates circulation, relieves tension, and restores balance to the body.
Specific techniques such as thumb pressure on the soles, gentle rocking and tapping, rhythmic compression help to release tightness in feet and the lower legs, and also promote deep relaxation. Ideal for those who spend long hours on their feet or are seeking relief from leg fatigue, this treatment will leave you feeling refreshed, energised, and deeply relaxed.

Tomasz Milenda2025-01-20 I recently visited Wandsworth Physiotherapy & Osteopathy and was thoroughly impressed with the professional and attentive service. The team there, particularly my therapist, was knowledgeable and genuinely interested in understanding my specific needs to tailor their treatment effectively. Their approach not only addressed my immediate concerns but also equipped me with valuable insights and exercises to help prevent future issues. The atmosphere was welcoming and calming, which made each session something to look forward to. I highly recommend their services to anyone seeking top-notch physiotherapy or osteopathy care in the area. Georgia Dent2025-01-17 I have only had absolutely fantastic experiences at Wordsworth physiotherapy. Whenever I have gone in with an injury, they have genuinely treated it and made it better. On Wednesday I went in to see the fantastic Kirsty after injuring both my knees running, after 30 minutes with her and the treatment she did I went home and by Friday I was back in the gym completely better, she was genuinely magical. I won’t go and see any other physiotherapist from now on, they are incredible! Curtis Bell2025-01-17 Thank you Shreya! Maja Jovicevic2025-01-07 Khush listened to my problems and helped. She was gentle but able to apply pressure. I had very bad lower back pain due to hereditary degeneration of my lower disks but after 1 session I was able to walk without tears. Khush was also willing to try out holistic methods such as cupping and lastly gave me a detailed workout/core strengthening plan which is actually challenging!Google rating score: 4.9 of 5, based on 354 reviewsVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
