RESTORE Scar Therapy is a specialised, non-invasive manual therapy, that designed to treat scars after surgery, injury, or trauma. Scar tissue can bind layers of skin and fascia together, create tightness, sensitivity, and restriction beneath the skin – even long after healing appears complete. This gentle therapy helps restore softness, movement, and comfort, so you can feel at ease in your body again.
The Restore method has been developed by The UKâs leading scar therapy teacher and Harley Street scar specialist, Emma Holly.
Each treatment combines specialised scar massage techniques, gentle fascial and lymphatic work, use of therapy tools and personalised self-care guidance to support lasting results.
Scar therapy sessions are calm, nurturing, and tailored to your needs. Your therapist uses hands-on techniques to help soften and mobilise the scar tissue, along with the surrounding skin, connective tissue, and muscles underneath. By gently working through these layers, scar massage helps improve blood flow and lymphatic movement in the area. This supports the delivery of oxygen and nutrients that your body needs to heal. This process assists the bodyâs natural healing response and promotes healthy scar tissue regeneration and remodelling.
This work supports not only physical comfort, but also the emotional healing that can accompany scars.
Each scar massage session is individually tailored to your needs. Treatment begins with a comprehensive 60-minute initial appointment, which includes a detailed assessment and screening process, followed by a gentle introduction to scar massage techniques.
Scar therapy can usually begin from around 8 weeks after surgery or injury, once healing is well established. The body is constantly renewing cells older scars can also respond beautifully with the right care.
However, we can’t make your scar disappear, RESTORE Scar Therapy focuses on improving how your scar feels, moves, and integrates with the rest of your body, helping to reduce ongoing discomfort and enhance your overall sense of wellbeing.
Your scar may look healed on the surface yet still feel tight, sensitive, or uncomfortable. Expert scar care can make a meaningful difference.
You deserve to feel comfortable, confident, and supported in your body. RESTORE Scar Therapy offers a gentle, respectful approach to scar care, helping you move forward with ease.
The frequency of treatment varies between individuals and depends on how your body responds. Healing is an ongoing process, and scar tissue continues to change and mature over time.
Scars that are newer (less than 12 months old) typically respond best to shorter, more frequent sessions. Older scars (more than 12 months old), as well as long-standing movement or tension patterns, usually benefit from longer sessions spaced further apart. This allows your body adequate time to adapt and remodel between treatments.
