Physiotherapy Rehabilitation
Do you need rehabilitation for an injury?
Does this describe you?
- You’ve been discharged from hospital and now need to start your rehab plan at home?
- You recently had knee, ankle or shoulder surgery, you’ve been discharged by the surgeon and your rehab exercises need to be progressed.
- Are you recovering from cancer surgery and have cording axillary web syndrome?
- Have you suffered a major trauma such as broken bones and the area is still really stiff and sore?
At Wandsworth physiotherapy and osteopathy our highly experienced team of physiotherapists treat people just like you every day and help them get back to what they love doing without the fear of further aches and pain. We see people recovering from different types of surgery and after major trauma and broken bones. Here’s how we can help you.
Orthopaedic surgery
We see people recovering from foot and ankle surgery including bunionectomy and toe fusion, open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) of the tibia and fibula if you have fractured your ankle, ankle ligament repairs and Achilles rupture repair.
We see many people after knee surgery including total knee replacement, meniscal repair and ligament reconstruction such as ACL reconstruction. We also help people after total hip replacement and hip impingement surgery such as label repairs.
We help people recover after spinal fusion surgery and discectomy and after spinal compression fracture or rehabilitating from spinal tuberculosis (TB).
For the upper limb we see people after sub acromial decompression, shoulder ORIF after shoulder fracture, shoulder stabilisation surgery after re-current shoulder dislocation and after ACJ resection.
We can also help after elbow, hand and finger surgery. Post op rehabilitation often takes time requiring a number of treatment sessions and the guidance through a rehabilitation based home exercise programme.

What other Physiotherapy rehab is there?
Cancer surgery
We also see people after cancer surgery to help with soft tissue mobilisation and scar tissue repair. Our Women’s Health team see women after gynaecology surgery such as vaginal tear or C-section birth and we also see women after breast cancer surgery and breast reconstruction.
We also treat the side effects of lymph gland removal such as axillary webbing and cording. Massage and acupuncture can also be very effective for lymph oedema, so can fascial stretching.
Trauma and fracture rehab
We do lots of rehab after major trauma and fractures such as broken ankles and bones in the feet, pelvic fracture and pelvic stabilisation surgery, compression fracture in the spine or broken arm and hand bones.
Fracture rehab does take time and the stiff joint needs to be mobilised and the affected muscles need to be strengthened with a progressive home exercise programme.
