Runner’s Rehab at Wandsworth Physiotherapy
Helping You Get Back to Running – Stronger, Faster, and Injury-Free
If you’re a recreational runner or marathon trainee recovering from an injury, you know how frustrating it can be to take time off from training. At Wandsworth Physiotherapy, we understand that simply being pain-free isn’t enough—you want to return to running stronger, more resilient, and less likely to get injured again.
That’s why we’ve created Runner’s Rehab, a structured small-group rehab programme designed for runners who have already had their Run Fit assessment and treatment and are ready to progress to the next stage of rehabilitation.
Why Join Runner’s Rehab?
Recovering from a running injury isn’t just about resting—it’s about strengthening the right muscles, improving movement patterns, and gradually rebuilding endurance so you can return to running with confidence.
Our physio-led sessions focus on:
Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training – A scientifically backed method to build strength and endurance with lower resistance, reducing stress on healing tissues.
Strength & Conditioning – Using weights, resistance bands, and functional exercises to target key muscle groups for better running efficiency.
Personalised Rehab Exercises – Based on your injury history, mobility, and running goals, ensuring a tailored recovery plan.
Progress Tracking – Monitoring improvements in strength, stability, and mobility, so you know exactly when you’re ready to ramp up your training.
Injury Prevention Strategies – Teaching you how to identify potential weaknesses and imbalances to avoid setbacks in the future.
Ready to Make a Change?
At Wandsworth Physiotherapy & Osteopathy we're focused on getting you out of pain and back to what you love doing, so you can fulfil your dreams. It may be simply sitting comfortably to playing with your kids, getting back into the gym or being able to run 5k again, our expert Physiotherapists, Podiatrists & Osteopaths in Wandsworth Town, Clapham Junction and Battersea Nine Elms are here to help!
All appointments are secured with payment. All appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the start time or not attended will not be refunded.
Who Are This Runner’s Rehab Classes For?
Runner’s Rehab is ideal for you if:
✔️ You’ve completed your Run Fit assessment and initial physiotherapy treatment.
✔️ You’re recovering from a running-related injury such as Achilles tendinopathy, runner’s knee, IT band syndrome, shin splints, or plantar fasciitis.
✔️ You want to return to running safely and reduce the risk of re-injury.
✔️ You’re training for an event (such as a half marathon or full marathon) and need a structured rehab plan to get back on track.
What to Expect in a Runner’s Rehab Session
Each session is run in a small group setting, ensuring you get personalised attention while benefiting from the motivation and support of fellow runners. Sessions take place in our fully equipped rehab space, with access to:
Strength equipment – dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, and more.
BFR training kits – to enhance muscle growth and endurance without overloading joints.
Mobility and activation drills – to improve flexibility and movement efficiency.
Sessions are progressive, meaning we gradually increase intensity and complexity as you regain strength and confidence in your running ability.
Get Back to Running with Confidence
If you’re eager to return to running stronger than before, Runner’s Rehab is the perfect bridge between physiotherapy and full training.
