Are you struggling with foot and ankle pain, corns, callouses or verrucas?

Does this describe you?

Then you have come to the right place

At Wandsworth Physiotherapy and Osteopathy our expert podiatrist will assess your foot posture and flexibility and put together a bespoke treatment plan to get you quickly out of pain. Whether referred by another medical professional or you just want some advice and direction we endeavour to provide accurate treatment and care to maintain a high standard of recovery and rehab.

Podiatrists (also known as Chiropodists) are experts at assessing, diagnosing and treating problems with the foot and lower limb. Podiatry and chiropody differ, however most practitioners do both.

Our podiatrist can treat

Chiropody is the treatment of ingrown toe nails, fungal nail infections, athletes foot, verrucas, corns, calluses and bunions. Podiatry is the analysis of the position and movement of your feet (called foot biomechanics) and how you walk (called gait).

Gait can be assessed with Plantar Pressure Gait Scan. This is a dynamic, weight-bearing scan of the feet during gait. It tracks the way pressure is transferred through your foot, and allows us to isolate individual areas of your foot and correct them with insoles (orthotics) and specific exercises. A podiatrist can also work with the physios and osteopaths on the team to work on improving your biomechanics and function.

**Insole orders are placed within 48 hours of your appointment and can take 2-4 weeks for manufacture and delivery. Once we have received them we will contact you for a fitting**

Services

This is a Podiatry / chiropody consultation for people who are not quite sure what they need or just want a starting point to establish a diagnosis and to discuss treatment options. This appointment may also include the treatment of in-growing toenails, verrucae, corns or callous.

This appointment is for people who know they have a problem with their feet and / or gait and are looking for a solution such as insoles. In this appointment there is a full assessment of the lower limbs, both weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing, including a Plantar Pressure Gait Scan. This is a dynamic, weight-bearing scan of the feet during gait. It tracks the way the pressure transfers through your foot, and allows us to correct the problem with insoles.

This appointment is for those who want a full overhaul of their feet including nail cut, file, treated and buffed (including fungal nail and / or ingrowing nail treatment or advice), callous and / or corn removal, verrucae treatment and / or diabetic foot care.

This appointment is for nail surgery of in grown or fungal nails. The price is set for 1 nail, however if more nails are required there will be a small price increase and you can discuss with the podiatrist prior to the appointment.

This appointment is a chiropody session where the skin and nails are cut, filed and treated. We will also perform a vascular check of pulses and blood supply to the foot and toes (ultrasound phase/pitch check); and a nerve check with 10g Monofilament for dermatomes (tissue damage) and vibration sensitivity (for under 60s).

We can offer custom made orthotics (lifetime guarantee).

This appointment is for follow up treatments to continue and review your treatment plan.

About Our Podiatrist…

With all of the procedures undertaken in the clinical setting, the highest level of expertise and care are employed. Whether gait analysis, orthotic manufacture, nail surgery or simple chiropody, all aspects of the treatment are undertaken in professional surroundings with a holistic, patient focused approach.

As a fully registered and insured Podiatrist who has worked extensively with physiotherapists, Jack’s interest in treating the full body filters through to his patient and it is not uncommon to be referred to other specialists to ensure full and comprehensive care is achieved.

Jack has worked in all aspects of Podiatry from diabetic and wound care clinics, nail surgery and reconstruction, rehab and post-surgery care including acupuncture, ultrasound and laser therapies.

He has a keen interest in improving the environment for the foot to function in and uses a plantar pressure and plantar force platform to make sure we analyse the correct data to ensure this, therefore allowing insole/orthotic prescription manufacture and adjustment to achieve specific targeted results.

Jack Lidyard qualified from Brighton University as a Podiatrist in 2008 and immediately began working with athletes from an amateur to national level.

For any nail, skin, foot, orthotic or rehab questions, please contact myself or the clinic directly.
